China…A year ago

Ok, I hope to keep this up again; Here is my first post in a very long time. These are photos I took about a year ago in Shanghai China when I had the opportunity to travel there for work a few times. The first time was to do a photo and video shoot with a large group of people, it was challenging, exciting and fun, it was something we have never done before. The second time was to hand deliver the project to the client, this time I was alone for a week, I had very few interactions with people except for the occasional messaging to the “west” over the “great firewall” of China to friends and family. Taking photos was all I could do to not go crazy, on the upside I had already been to all of these places and knew my way around so it was less scary.

Anyway, here they are.

A missing collection

I have been lazy; When I finally got around to downloading photos I found this missing stash of photos from a trip I took to Toronto almost a year ago. They are just a bunch of details that do not show much context. Just the way I like it…Keep it simple!

Bogota, Colombia.

The next week after Seoul I went to Colombia for a conference that I was invited to speak at. This trip was no work at all, we met some very smart and fun people and had a nice alone time. Anyway what I like about this set of photos is that they look like I could have taken them in a span of several days but all of these were taken in one day showing how a nice day can turn around very quickly in Bogotá. I have never shot in one day in so many different lighting conditions and I think that is what makes this set cool. It was fun, the collection even includes a photo my wife took at the Museum of gold.

Finally out of the American Continent

To start the 2016 tour I had the fortune to travel to Seoul for a client meeting, if that makes any sense. This trip was particularly interesting because while I have traveled quite a bit for work I have never traveled outside of the “NAFTA” countries so I was very excited to add another continent to my passport. I don’t really know what I was expecting but I was surprised that Seoul didn’t really quite looked as I expected it to be. It is very western looking. One thing that hit me when I was in an elevator was the realization that I have never been in a place where I don’t understand what people are saying and I found that experience exciting rather than frustrating prompting me to start asking our hosts how to say a few things in corean. I have forgotten it all already but it was a very interesting and fun experience.

Here are some photos, Enjoy, share and comment.

Las Vegas Nightmare (The final trip of 2015)

I will be short, Las Vegas “delivered”, I really don’t understand why people want to go there. It stinks, there are hookers right next to families of tourists and in general just crazy people everywhere. If you want to suffer like that with a bit more dignity just go to NYC city. Anyway, We did go out of the casino one day and it was the best day, I have only enjoyed fresh air like this once, when I was hooked to an oxygen machine at the hospital right out of surgery. That is how good it felt. So, if you plan on going to Las Vegas 2 days should be enough then run out of there!!
